Trish Stratus Reflects On 25 Years Since WWE Debut, Fighting For TV Time And Leaving A Lasting Legacy

Trish Stratus Reflects On 25 Years Since WWE Debut & Fighting For TV Time

Trish Stratus has looked back on her WWE debut and how much progression has been made in the women’s division in the past 25 years.

Back in the year 2000, Stratus made her debut as the valet for Test and Albert. Eventually establishing herself as a breakout star in the division, Stratus went on to win the Women’s Championship 7 times and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013.

As the anniversary of her in-ring debut approaches, Stratus admitted on Busted Open Radio that it does not feel like 25 years have passed since her first match while also looking back on having to fight for TV time:

“It doesn’t sink in that it’s been 25 years since I debuted. If we hadn’t fought hard for the storylines and the longer matches…We may not have been in the place where we’re in now. We had to fight for that back then.”

Leaving a lasting impression, many of the stars of today have cited Stratus and Lita as major influences on their own career while also naming the Hall of Famers as dream opponents. Later in the interview, Stratus admitted she was surprised at how much of an impact her and Lita made on the industry:

“Me and Lita were like ‘Whoah, we’ve really made an impact,'”
