Trish Stratus is ready to put the Becky Lynch rivalry behind her and move on to a fresh opponent.
The feud between the former Women’s Champions began on April 12th and is set to come to an end at Payback on September 2nd when Stratus and Lynch meet inside a steel cage to prevent interference from Zoey Stark.
Speaking with the Post-Gazette, the Hall of Famer stated that she is a little apprehensive about stepping inside the steel structure, but wants to end the feud and end it strong:
“[I’m ready to] finally put an end to all the time [Lynch has] wasted in my life. It’s a challenge. Am I a little scared of it? Yup. But that’s what drives me. … I’m going to prove to Becky that I’m the greatest of this generation by beating the greatest of her generation. We’ve had a good little run and it’s been really fun. But it’s been a little long. I’m ready to move on, do other things and cross paths with other people.”
Trish Stratus & Becky Lynch’s Lengthy Fued Victim Of WWE Booking
The reason why the blowoff match has not taken place yet is due to WWE repeatedly pushing the match back. What looked to be a match set for SummerSlam was then delayed by 2 weeks, reportedly cut from the card due to time constraints. When the apparent blow-off match on Raw, both Superstars went to a double count-out, necessitating the match to be pushed back for a second time at the upcoming Premium Live Event.
