In the lead-up to the February 20th episode of WWE Raw, it was reported by multiple outlets that Trish Stratus would be making an appearance on the show.
However, the show came and went and Stratus was nowhere to be seen.
A new report from Fightful Select has now offered an update on the situation, including why the WWE Hall of Famer missed the show. The report notes that as suspected, Stratus was set to appear during Ding Dong Hello!
Instead of a surprise appearance from Stratus, the segment was interrupted by Becky Lynch and then Lita. Just minutes later it was confirmed that Lynch and Lita would challenge Damage CTRL for the Women’s Tag Team Titles on February 27th.
Fightful adds that while details are currently thin on the ground, Stratus was the original plan. Not only that, she was actually flown into the show in Ottawa, although she left before the segment took place. The late switch was simply put down to a “creative change.”
It is currently unclear whether Stratus will be returning to television any time soon.
Trish Stratus Misses Raw Again
This is the second time in recent weeks that Stratus hasn’t appeared despite reportedly being in line for a comeback. Ahead of Elimination Chamber, it was reported that she would be appearing on Raw and then taking part in a huge six-woman tag team match at the Premium Live Event.
Trish Stratus last appeared on Raw back in August in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. On that occasion, her promo was interrupted by Bayley and Damage CTRL. In a back-and-forth segment that also featured Bianca Belair, Stratus threatened to come out of retirement to face Bayley.
