Trish Stratus’ return to the ring at WWE Elimination Chamber will mean a lot to the Hall of Famer, her family and the fans.
After first teasing that she would return for one more run to make 25 years since her WWE debut, Stratus was a surprise entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. Entering at number 25, Stratus was in the match for 13 minutes before being eliminated by Nia Jax.
Appearing on SmackDown a couple of weeks later, the Hall of Famer attempted to save Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton from an attack by Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. However, things did not go to plan for the former Women’s Champion as she was also taken out by Jax.
It was later confirmed that Stratus and Stratton would face Jax and LeRae at Elimination Chamber, which takes place in Stratus’ hometown of Toronto.
Discussing the upcoming match on Busted Open Radio, Stratus revealed that not only is the show in her hometown but it will be the first time her children get to see her perform live and could also be her final match in Toronto:
“So I had to sit down with the kids and be like, just to let you guys know, I’m going to be super busy coming up. I’m going to be travelling here, and I’m going to be training and all these sort of things, and they got it, and they’re like we get it, and it helps that they get it … Rogers Centre is 60,000 people, its a stadium show for Elimination Chamber, so it is pretty huge to know the last time I was there was WrestleMania 18.
So it’s really wild that they’re going to feel that, they’re going to be a part of it … it could be the last time I ever perform in Toronto, and it is actually the first time they’re going to see me wrestle live.”
Trish Stratus Returns To Rogers Centre
The Hall of Famer will compete inside Rogers Centre once more on March 1st, which was also the site of WrestleMania 18. Following the icon vs. icon match between The Rock and Hulk Hogan, Stratus competed against Jazz and Lita in the penultimate match of the show. Jazz retained the Women’s Championship in the match.
In a previous interview, Trish Stratus let her feelings be known on a current WWE star.
