Trish Stratus has discussed possibly returning to the ring, specifically in Toronto.
With WWE continuing to hold many events internationally in 2024, fans in Toronto were informed that Money in the Bank would be held in the Canadian City in July. While many fans will be in for a great night with two Money in the Bank ladder matches, some are hoping that a certain Hall of Famer from Toronto will be there and could even be competing at the event for the second straight year.
Speaking with Alex McCarthy for Inside The Ropes, Stratus stated that if the criteria are met then it is definitely a possibility. Looking back on the last return, the former World Champion was happy that Zoey Stark was able to get some increased exposure during the rivalry with Becky Lynch:
“It’s my continuous thing since I have said since I retired. if it’s the right moment, if it’s something that makes sense. Will the fans like it? Coming back and working with Zoey was great because there was another layer, Becky doesn’t need my rub. But it was an interesting feud, two characters, a fantasy match, and an interesting face-off. That was great. Bringing in Zoey helped becasue I didn’t want to be there selfishly, [I want to] give her something too.
Stratus continued, stating that she would only compete if she could do all the moves and perform at 100%, adding that there was an injury going into her match at WrestleMania 39:
I always say if I can check all these boxes. If I can add something different, make something interesting with a unique approach to different characters, then I’ll do it. I also say, as long as I can go 100%. I’m never gonna come back and be like, ‘Listen, I’m gonna do this, but I’m only at like 60%, so I’m gonna do only half my moves.’ I’m not gonna do that.
I want to give you 100%. I never know until I get in. Going back for WrestleMania, I had a torn hamstring. Put it this way, I gave it 100% when I probably shouldn’t have given it 100%. That limp lasted a lot longer than it should have, but if I can give it 100% then it’s what I do.
“If the call comes, I’ll have to check those boxes. Can I still go? I’ll get in the ring, I’ll see where I’m at, and then see what the idea is. It’s always about creative and making sure that it’s something that will Stratusfy the fans and be something exciting and different.”
WWE Star Wants Trish Stratus To Return
The last time that fans saw Stratus live was at the Payback Premium Live Event, which saw Lynch defeat Stratus inside a steel cage. After the match, Zoey Stark would end her partnership with Stratus by laying out the Hall of Famer in the ring. Discussing her goals for 2024, Zoey Stark wants to finish what she started with Trish Stratus.
