At WrestleMania 39 Trish Stratus will step back in the ring for the first time since SummerSlam 2019.
The WWE Hall of Famer ended her full-time career in 2006 but has made a number of in-ring appearances since. Stratus made her most recent return to WWE on the February 27th episode of Raw to attack Bayley which helped Becky Lynch and Lita defeat IYO SKY and Dakota Kai to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
A week later, Lynch and Lita toasted their win by inviting Stratus to the ring. However, the trio was interrupted by Bayley and Damage CTRL. After some back and forth Stratus challenged Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai to a match at WrestleMania on behalf of Lita and Lynch, which Bayley quickly accepted.
Since then Bayley has taken to social media to lift the lid on Stratus helping her deal with her defeat at WrestleMania 35. It was reported at the time that Bayley and Sasha Banks had been crying in the locker room and the hotel lobby floor after losing their Women’s Tag Team Titles. Although Banks has since claimed that the incident never happened, Bayley hinted that there could be some truth to it noting that Stratus sat on the hotel floor with the pair until 4 am.
“We sat in the hallway of our hotel after losing the tag team titles at Wrestlemania. You talked to us til 4am sharing your secrets of the business, your personal life, your strengths and your weaknesses…………. I remember.”
In response to Bayley referencing their conversation, Stratus had little sympathy, sniping that at least the star already knows how it feels to lose at WrestleMania.
“Yah I remember. Well, at least you already know what if feels to lose at #WrestleMania … maybe you can CTRL your tears better this year.”
Trish Stratus Heading For Major Match At SummerSlam?
It has been reported that Trish Stratus will be sticking around after WrestleMania and competing at SummerSlam. The report notes that Stratus will be turning heel before facing Becky Lynch.
