Trish Stratus And Lita Clarify WWE Rumor

Trish Stratus and Lita on WWE Raw

Trish Stratus and Lita confirmed a persistent rumor about their iconic feud in WWE.

In 2004, Trish Stratus and Lita became embroiled in a bitter feud that led to the two women facing off in the main event of Monday Night Raw on December 6th. On that occasion, Lita captured the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time in four years, but the feud continued and Stratus recaptured the title the next month.

Speaking to DS Shin on Ring the Belle, the two WWE Hall of Famers were asked about rumors that their epic feud was to culminate in a ladder match at WrestleMania 21 in April of 2005. Lita addressed the issue first, saying:

“When I’m not believing that we’re going to be in the main event that day, I for sure am not believing that there was any validity to the rumor, but that would have made sense with me being involved in the TLC matches.”

Unfortunately, Lita suffered an ACL injury ahead of WrestleMania and was not able to compete at the event. However, Stratus confirmed that the two women had been working toward facing each other on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

“The WrestleMania match is what we were working towards. WrestleMania season began in January, we were working towards a WrestleMania match.”

When Did Trish Stratus And Lita Last Compete In WWE?

Lita’s most recent match in the company took place at WrestleMania 39, where she teamed with Stratus and Becky Lynch to defeat Damage CTRL.

Stratus, meanwhile, has wrestled more recently. At Payback in September of 2023, Stratus took on Becky Lynch inside a steel cage in a match that was highly praised after the women’s months-long feud.
