Shawn Michaels has vowed to do everything he can to work with Triple H and take WWE to even greater heights.
While Triple H and Shawn Michaels created magic inside the ring, they are now hoping to work together as effectively in very different roles outside of it.
After The Game was forced to take a break from WWE due to a serious health issue, Shawn Michaels stepped into his friend’s role as the head of NXT, which became NXT 2.0. While Triple H did eventually return to work, his duties were significantly different to what they had been, meaning he wasn’t involved in what had become to many his brand.
However, with Vince McMahon retiring, the WWE Hall of Famer became Head of Creative for the main roster, something which has received a huge amount of support from fans. One of the reasons for this optimism is that many now hope that with best friends Triple H and Shawn Michaels in positions of power, there will be a clearer pathway between NXT and the main roster.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Michaels said that he was excited to be working in conjunction with Triple H, reiterating that the mission statement is to create the best sports entertainment company in the world.
“We hope now that we can put together a really powerful one-two punch between NXT and the main roster that’s going to drive WWE to even greater heights,” Michaels says. “He wants to stick to the mission statement, which is to be the greatest sports entertainment company on the face of the earth. I’m going to do everything here to help, and he’ll have the entire support of NXT. We’re all excited for the future.”
One of the stars who was said to have been undone by a lack of continuity between NXT and the main roster was Karrion Kross. However, after a disappointing run on the main roster which ultimately led to his release in 2021, Kross has already returned to WWE and looks to be set for big things.
