Triple H has confirmed that WrestleMania 40 really was the biggest Mania of all time in every possible way.
Ever since WrestleMania became a 2-night show with no restrictions in 2022, the opportunity presented itself to break records as there were 2 nights of merchandise sales, sponsorship opportunities and concessions for the thousands of fans attending. With the event also being 2 nights, ticket prices can also be justifiably increased to reflect there being 2 nights of action.
With over 145,000 in attendance over the weekend, opportunities were not restricted to everything that happened in Lincoln Financial Field. On top of NXT Stand & Deliver which took place a few hours before WrestleMania Saturday, the company introduced WWE World for the first time in 2024, which was an on-location experience that charged admission and contained merch stores, meet and greet opportunities and panels among many other activities.
Speaking at the post-show press conference after night 2 of WrestleMania 40, Triple H confirmed that it really was the biggest event in company history and some records were broken in a matter of hours:
“You hear a lot of hyperbole coming into these things. ‘Greatest WrestleMania of all time, biggest WrestleMania of all time.’ A lot of times that stuff is said, and you move on. But I do feel like this was the biggest WrestleMania of all time. I really do. And when you break it down, I have spent the last 4 days getting text messaging saying ‘Here’s where we’re at at 12 o’clock for the World’ or merch sales or anything.
Let’s say that was at 12 o’clock, at 3 o’clock I get a message saying we just blew that number out of the water. We set records this week for social media by far, we set records for merchandise by far, we set records for sponsorship by far, just destroyed records for gate. This was legitimately on every metric the biggest WrestleMania of all time.”
The main event of the show saw Cody Rhodes finish the story, defeating Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed Champion.
Triple H Promises Big Things For The Future
Along with WrestleMania 40 being the biggest event in the company’s history, many have commented that the show felt like a major reset and a positive sign of things to come. Stephanie McMahon referred to the modern-day product as “The Paul Levesque Era” and production quality increased exponentially, a vast improvement from when Kevin Dunn was in charge. Making a bold prediction about what to expect, Triple H has vowed to catapult WWE to new heights.
In recent news it has been revealed why WWE is pushing the Triple H era.
