Triple H Responds To Controversial WWE WrestleMania 39 Night Two Main Event Finish

Triple H has given his thoughts on the closing match of WrestleMania weekend.

The final match of night 2 was set to see Cody Rhodes finish the story and defeat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, due to interference by both Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa, Reigns was able to hit one final Spear onto Rhodes to win the match and retain the championship.

Triple H Says That The WWE Story Never Finishes

The cheers and support for The American Nightmare disappeared inside SoFi Stadium following the closing bell, with many feeling like the result of the match should have seen the lengthy championship reign finally come to an end.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H was among many to be interviewed by the press at the post-show press conference. When asked about the controversial finish to the main event, The Game stated that despite what Cody Rhodes has been saying, the story does not end at WrestleMania:

What I will say about that is it is always interesting to me when people say ‘How could that happen?’ Or ‘How could they do that in that moment?’ And it’s almost perfectly spelled out in this story, I need to finish the story. In the WWE, the story never finishes. Tomorrow night on Raw at sold out Crypto Arena, the story continues and the story takes another chapter. We just got to the end of a chapter. But the story continues, and that’s where this get interesting to me. So, you know, I think that is what is the most amazing thing about our business, the story never ends.

Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman were also a part of the post-show interviews, where Heyman would reference an infamous media scrum that took place in 2022.
