Triple H made a surprise appearance to open night two of WrestleMania 38.

As night two of WrestleMania 38 sparked into life, WWE Hall of Famer Triple H made a surprise appearance to the delight of those in attendance.

Decked out in a smart suit, looking happy and healthy, The Game made his way to the ring, performing his signature entrance, drowning himself in water in the process.

Once in the ring, fans chanted and cheered to show their appreciation for the legend who announced his retirement only days earlier.

Microphone in hand, Triple H addressed the crowd, saying thank you, adding he wanted to show them his love like only he knew how, screaming “Welcome to WrestleMania!” As pyro exploded, the former World Champion left the microphone, along with his wrestling boots in the ring, signalling the end of his career.

On March 25th, Triple H announced his retirement from in-ring competition, bringing down the curtain on a career that had spanned more than 25 years.

During the interview where he made his announcement, The Game recalled the cardiac event which caused him to undergo heart surgery. The Godfather of NXT, later confirmed that he had been fitted with a defibrillator.

This wasn’t the former DX star’s first appearance over WrestleMania weekend, after he attended the WWE Hall of Fame and surprisingly popped up at NXT Stand & Deliver. The star appeared on the stage to greet Tommaso Ciampa, as the former NXT Champion said farewell to NXT 2.0.

Triple H wrestled his last match at a WWE live event in Japan in June 2019 where he teamed with Shinsuke Nakamura to defeat Robert Roode and Samoa Joe. His final singles match came at Super ShowDown only weeks earlier where he was defeated by Randy Orton.
