Raquel Rodriguez could be in line for a big push.
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Triple H has some big plans for one-half of the brand-new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
“They are trying to get Raquel Rodriguez over as a big star. That is one of the things that they are trying to do right now,” Meltzer claimed.
On the 8/29 episode of Monday Night RAW, Rodriguez and Aliyah defeated IYO SKY and Dakota Kai to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament and in-turn, became the new champions. The titles were vacated after now-former champions, Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of an episode of WWE RAW before the show went on-the-air due to a reported frustration with their creative direction.
Rodriguez getting a big push under the leadership of Triple H isn’t a surprise as Rodriguez is a former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, alongside the aforementioned Kai, as well as a former NXT Women’s Champion.
