Triple H has given an update on the status of Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James, following the D-Generation X member’s recent hospitalisation.
Following NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver night 2, both Triple H and Shawn Michaels took part in a media call. Prior to answering questions, the ‘Cerebral Assassin’ turned NXT executive producer gave an update on James – who suffered a heart attack in March:
“I want to mention Brian James, Road Dogg, he’s been home the last few days. He is recovering, you know, but he’s healthy and he’s good and recovering at home doing well. We had him set up, so he was on cans over the last two days and, you know, kind of being involved and stuff. And as he gets his strength back and feeling good, he’ll be back at it and and back to being Road Dogg in no time. So I just wanted to give a shout out to him. We greatly miss him here and he’ll be back soon enough and but he’s doing well.”
The former Intercontinental Champion and WWE Hall of Famer was admitted to hospital back in March and underwent several stress, heart and kidney tests before being discharged in the following days.
Several figures from the world of professional wrestling would send out well wishes to Road Dogg including Jim Ross, who called him “a fighter”.
Following the health scare, the current WWE producer would take to Facebook to thank friends, family and fans who took the time to wish him well during the trying time:
“To God be the glory, I live to tell the story! I’m headed home. I’ve got some work to do and some changes to make but I’m up to the task. I want to thank EACH and EVERY one of you for your thoughts and prayers and your kind words. So many reached out with positive vibes and it overwhelmed me with love. Thank you all and God is good! Let the journey begin! #OUDK # GBU #LIVEARMSTRONG”
Inside The Ropes wishes Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James a speedy recovery.
