How Triple H Made A Former WWE Star Realize He Wasn’t Ready To Be A Top Guy

Triple H Breaks Silence On WWE Reveal Orchestrated To Clash With AEW

A former WWE Superstar realized “he wasn’t ready” after a match with Triple H.

Triple H has taken on many roles before and after retiring as an in-ring superstar. Before becoming the head of creative and Chief Content Officer, he was a rising star, a champion, a legend, and even a mentor. Even before getting an authoritative role, he was already teaching stars.

As it turns out, one of the knowledge he shared was unintentional, which was with former WWE star Maven, who was released in 2005.

Maven Realized Triple H Shouldn’t Have Been Calling Every Spot For Him

In a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, the former WWE star shared that he realized Triple H telling him what to do during their match made him realize he wasn’t ready yet. He explained that although he was initially mad and upset for being released, those are the things he should have known.

Hunter was having to call every spot to me, every spot, and it just hit me, like slapped me across the face. Man, I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t. Like, the veteran should be leading the rookie or the less knowledgeable guy through a match, but he shouldn’t have to call every spot. There was a spot where I came up and I punched him, and you see him, his head go down, and he tells me, stay on me, punch me again, stuff I know now, but I didn’t know then. So, yeah, I was mad and I was hurt and I was upset when they let me go, but this is all stuff I should have known.”

The former WWE star continued that Triple H walking him through each step, especially during a live match, made him realize the Stamford-based promotion had every right to let him go when they did.

He should not have had to walk me through every, as far as, punch, okay, punch me, punch me. I should have known, stay on him, stay on him. Finding that out in real time while we were doing a video, it made me look at things a whole lot different. So, an anger I might have had at somebody or something for me feeling, maybe they didn’t give me my full opportunity, it was, you know, they should have. They had every right to let me go when they did.”
