Following our exclusive report last week on WWE’s potential plans to leave the Amway Center upon expiration of their current contract, Triple H has now opened up more about any future move from the ThunderDome.
The Game was asked by Jon Alba on the NXT TakeOver post-show media call about whether the Capitol Wrestling Center was an option for RAW or SmackDown if WWE were to depart from the ThunderDome. You can read notes from the full call here.
Triple H reiterated earlier comments on the importance of RAW and SmackDown feeling different to NXT, before saying that if WWE moves, it will be to a larger facility – and not back to the Performance Center.
“I think ThunderDome and Raw and SmackDown having a different vibe and feel is important. If they move from Amway, I think that will be to a larger facility, if that happens and it will maintain being the ThunderDome and will be different in that unique standpoint.” (H/T Fightful)
Triple H also went on to state that WWE continues to have a great partnership with Full Sail, and spoke to the safety protocols in place for attendees.
“As far as the protocols, we continue to take every precaution we can. We work with the CDC, we work with local officials, our medical staff, and they create protocols that we follow. All the people in the building were scanned and tested before they walked through the door. They were kept in pods and separated. We took every precaution we can to for their health and safety and our talent, staff, and crew were safe.”
The initial contract for WWE’s tenure at the Amway Center is expected to expire on October 31st.
