SummerSlam Night 2 concluded with the crowning of a new Undisputed WWE Champion and John Cena staying true to his word on SmackDown. The Premium Live Event signified the end of his disastrous heel run, as some labeled it. Cena brought back colours to his look and titantron, the cheery, fan favourite returned to his authentic self.
However, that was not all the buzz. When soaking in the fans chanting ‘Thank you, Cena’ after his match, Brock Lesnar burst into the arena. The Beast Incarnate was away from WWE TV and refrained from any mention in the aftermath of being named in the Janel Grant lawsuit. There were mixed reactions from audiences.

Cody Rhodes ended John Cena’s reign as Undisputed WWE Champion, which lasted 105 days.
Triple H Indicated WWE’s Decision To Bring Brock Lesnar Back Was At John Cena’s Discretion
Triple H reacted to Brock Lesnar’s return via a post on X, but that was not all. In the SummerSlam post-show, Triple H was asked by the mediators about Brock Lesnar’s WWE comeback. He cited the impact it had on the element of surprise in wrestling:
“The dynamic in the room changes when The Beast is here. Seeing Brock Lesnar come back, anything that you thought was happening sort of all goes out the window. The factor of Brock now just changes that dynamic so incredibly and makes it unpredictable.” (1:00:00 – 1:00:18)
When asked about the people to expect on John Cena’s retirement tour, The Game responded that Brock Lesnar was on the star’s wishlist:
“As you’re doing this, when you come in, you know you have a finite number of dates on John Cena, a finite number of big matches, big moments, and incredible things you wanna do. And you wanna get to the most, majority of them. You can’t get to every single one of them, you can’t get to everything. As I said in the beginning, sort of for me, this is John Cena’s wishlist, John Cena’s, it’s him writing the last chapter of his book.” (1:00:51 – 1:01:22)
The crowds were seemingly chanting for Karrion Kross when Triple H took over the SummerSlam post-show. He mistook it that they were cheering for Brock Lesnar, which became a segue into fans taking it up on social media.
