Contrary to prior speculation, Triple H has confirmed that WWE Raw will not be returning to its risqué days of The Attitude Era in 2025.
In just over a month’s time, WWE Raw will premiere on Netflix and remain a part of the streaming platform for at least the next 5 years. With the company entering unchartered territory by having its biggest show exclusively on the streaming platform, fans have been speculating for the past year how the product and presentation will change in the new year.
Given that Netflix is no stranger to creating more adult-themed content, a common fan theory is that Raw will return to the TV-14 era with bad language and blood being more prevalent. However, at a recent media event, the Chief Content Officer shut down this rumour.
Triple H Confirms PG Raw Here To Stay
On December 3rd, the promotion hosted a media event at Netflix HQ ahead of the launch with executives from both companies in attendance. As reported by Variety, Triple H confirmed that TV-PG content rating is here to stay:
“It’s a safe place for families, for kids, for everybody, to be able to view the programming,” Levesque said. “That will not change.”
Company President Nick Khan also spoke at the conference and confirmed that an R-rated Raw is not happening:
“There’s some online chatter about how it’s going to be ‘R’ rated or, for us old folks, ‘X’ rated. That’s definitely not happening,” he said. “It’s a family friendly, multi-generational, advertiser-friendly programming. It’s going to stay that way.”
