Triple H Called Former WWE Champion To Return In 2022, But The Star Chose AEW

Triple H WWE 2025

Triple H wanted a former AEW star in WWE, but she chose Tony Khan’s promotion instead. She has now explained why she made that tough call.

Saraya Rejected Triple H’s WWE Offer Because AEW Was Willing to Give Her Brother a Chance

Saraya told Chris Van Vliet during a recent appearance on his podcast Insight, that WWE had contacted her, with Triple H taking the initiative. The Chief Content Officer wanted her back, and he let her know that if she got cleared, they could put her back in the ring.

While initially confused, as AEW had also made an offer, Saraya ultimately chose Tony Khan’s promotion. The reason was that her brother had never gotten a chance to perform, and it was his dream. When she realized that All Elite Wrestling could give her the opportunity to bring him in also, she knew what decision to make:

The one thing for me is that I’ve had an incredible career, but my brother’s never had the opportunity to do it, and that’s been his dream since he could tie his boots. So I just knew at that point, I was like if I take this opportunity, I don’t know if WWE will ever sign my brother, but I know AEW has given me the opportunity to bring my brother in, and he can finally get his moment. That’s one of the big catalysts of why I went to AEW is because, obviously, you get freedom to do whatever you want. But they were going to bring my brother in finally.”

In March 2025, Saraya left AEW. It remains to be seen if the former WWE Divas Champion returns to the sports entertainment capital now that she’s a free agent.
