WWE CCO Triple H made a big announcement ahead of the clash with AEW in September.
There were rumours about a new PLE coming soon on September 20 from Indianapolis, along with some names and details. Wrestling fans were also worried about the potential clash with AEW All Out, scheduled for the same date. WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, has just made this event official, along with some major announcements.
In a recent tweet, Triple H uploaded a video featuring snapshots from various WWE PLEs. The voiceover announced that two global powerhouses are under a spotlight the world has never seen on Saturday, September 20.
The caption read:
A new home. A new PLE. A new era. An historic partnership, a major step towards the future!!! @WWE Wrestlepalooza from Indianapolis on September 20 will air LIVE on @espn.” (Triple H’s Official X Account)

This big move has confirmed all the rumours surrounding the name, date, and streaming platform of the ‘unique’ event, which is coming back after 25 years. ECW produced a wrestling event named Wrestlepalooza in 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2000, out of which the 1998 edition was televised as a PPV event. WWE owns the footage of all four shows.
WWE’s Wrestlepalooza Clashes with AEW’s All Out
WWE has signed a five-year deal with ESPN worth $1.6 billion, which was originally planned to begin in early 2026, but will debut next month. The leading sports media company will become the exclusive domestic home for all PLEs, such as WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, and many more. This marks a major shift from NBC’s Peacock service.
Wrestlepalooza is rumoured to feature the much-anticipated match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar, following Lesnar’s return at SummerSlam. This will mark the last match between these two wrestlers, who have had one of the most intense and notable rivalries over the last two decades.
On the same night, AEW’s All Out will air live on TBS from Toronto, Canada. This is one of the company’s “Big Five” events, featuring world title matches and surprise returns.
