Triple H has said he wants to give Braun Strowman another shot in the company amid reports that he has already signed a contract with WWE.
Speaking to BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani, ‘The Game’ praised Braun Strowman for his athleticism and personality, while also acknowledging Strowman’s ‘polarizing’ behaviour since his release in June 2021. Most of this stemmed from Strowman aligning himself the Control Your Narrative promotion, and being critical of independent wrestlers.
“He’s funny because he’s a like polarizing guy in the business sometimes, but for a guy his size, and what he brings to the table, he’s an amazing athlete. You don’t see too many guys that big, that fast, that have big personalities.”
Continuing, Triple H praised Braun Strowman’s strengths as a signature ‘larger than life’ performer before asserting that he wanted to give him another chance.
“He came to the PC for a visit. He’d never done this before. He’s a strongman, he weighed like 434 pounds or something like that. I just remember being like ‘Jesus, this guy is huge,’ but I didn’t really care. He’s got this big booming voice and this big personality, and he’s laughing, and I was like ‘this guy is larger than life,’ and the guy that was running development with me came to me and was like ‘I don’t know. A lot of mileage, a lot of issues there.’ I was like ‘Dude, he’s custom made for what we do. His size, his personality, let’s give him a shot.'”
Though Triple H refused to confirm whether Braun Strowman would be returning to WWE, reports have all but confirmed Strowman will be at Raw in Kansas City on September 5th, where the show will host the fall-out from Clash At The Castle.
Braun Strowman’s release in 2021 came as his multi-million-dollar WWE contract was coming to an end. Reportedly, Strowman had been tough in negotiations and played “hardball” which may have contributed to management’s decision to release him.
In the same interview, Triple H also commented on the status of Sasha Banks in WWE and pushed back theories that NXT’s relaunch was a punishment for failing to defeat AEW Dynamite in TV ratings.
