Ahead of last week’s episode of WWE Raw, PWInsider reported that Triple H had tested positive for COVID and had to stay home from the show in Oklahoma City, the first show he’s missed since taking over from Vince McMahon in July. The show featured a brawl between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar, Mustafa Ali attacking new United States Champion Seth Rollins, and the return of Elias to Monday Night Raw after his brother Ezekiel’s in-ring career was cut short by Kevin Owens back in August.
Bruce Prichard was not backstage for the show as he had previously scheduled a vacation not related to Triple H‘s diagnosis, and Road Dogg was reportedly the point person in charge during the Chief Content Officer’s absence. Ed Koskey and Michael Hayes also pitched in to help lead the creative process.
Triple H Also Missed Friday’s SmackDown But Is Back In Charge In Charlotte, NC Tonight
According to a new report from PWInsider, Triple H is back to work and backstage at Monday Night Raw in Charlotte, NC. The report notes that during his absence, he was in constant communication with the producers and writers to make sure that his vision for the program was carried out.
Thankfully, PWInsider also notes that the Chief Content Officer was feeling fine during his hiatus, and that he was kept home in accordance with the company’s COVID protocols after testing positive. A report from Fightful Select adds that he was mostly frustrated that he had to miss being backstage at the events as opposed to feeling poorly.
Triple H’s first Monday Night Raw back on the job is set to be main evented by a rematch between Bayley and Bianca Belair. Despite Belair retaining her title in a brutal ladder match at WWE Extreme Rules, Bayley has not let up in her pursuits of the EST’s championship, and the two go one on one in non-title action tonight. If Bayley is able to defeat Bianca for the first time since December of 2020, there’s no doubt she’ll earn another shot at the Raw Women’s Championship she’s so desperate to obtain.
