A new report has claimed that while Triple H is back working with WWE, his role within the company has changed dramatically.
On May 19th Stephanie McMahon announced that she is taking a leave of absence from WWE. In a short statement posted on social media, McMahon said that she would be stepping away from “the majority” of her responsibilities with the company.
“As of tomorrow, I am taking a leave of absence from the majority of my responsibilities at WWE. WWE is a lifelong legacy for me and I look forward to returning to the company that I love after taking this time to focus on my family.”
Meanwhile it was reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that move was “100%” down to McMahon.
In the midst of the changes, it was also noted that Stephanie’s husband Triple H had returned to work full-time. However, in a fresh report from Fightful Select is was stated that his duties are “categorically different” to before he was forced to take a break following a serious “cardiac event” in September.
It is currently unclear as to what his new duties include.
The report adds that last year much of Stephanie McMahon’s team was dismantled during multiple rounds of layoffs. Those who worked alongside McMahon were said to speak highly of her, while one said they weren’t surprised by her decision to step away. Although they offered no further explanation.
It was again reiterated that McMahon is expected to return to the company.
Interestingly, WWE have also recently added Ignace Lahoud to their Board of Directors. Lahoud has previously worked as Executive Vice President with the Walt Disney Company, and Chief Financial Officer for MRC.
