Triple H Allegedly Moving In Vince McMahon’s Footsteps To Prevent WWE Leaks

WWE CCO Triple H works the camera at SmackDown

WWE has grown in many ways since the Endeavor era launched. Triple H is regularly praised for the overall product and presentation, as well as the improved working environment, but now he’s being accused of following in the behind-the-scenes footsteps of Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon made World Wrestling Entertainment into a global juggernaut, but long before his ongoing scandal the WWE co-founder was criticized for various rules, policies, and practices. McMahon was also famous for changing storylines at the last minute to either prevent leaks or simply because he had an idea. Either way, Triple H also seems to have learned a lot from his father-in-law and is walking in his footsteps if recent reports are to be believed.

Internal news leaks have been a double-edged sword for the entire wrestling world, and promoters like McMahon were known to detest the leaks but realized they could be useful. Former WWE commentator Hugo Savinovich has just made a bold scoops-related claim about Triple H and Nick Khan.

Triple H Reportedly Looking To Eliminate WWE Leaks

The release and return of Ron Killings was a big debacle for WWE, and during the fallout one source claimed Triple H hates it when fans hijack storyline plans. Hugo Savinovich recently criticized WWE for Jey Uso dropping the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther, and wondered if fan backlash is forcing WWE’s Chief Content Officer to re-think decisions.

Triple H is re-writing storyline plans in hopes of catching people who are leaking news to online platforms, according to Savinovich. Ringside News adds that Savinovich also claimed Triple H and Nick Khan are bothered by the role social media plays in these unfortunate events, and that has led to a change in how plans are executed. Much like Vince McMahon, it has been added that Triple H is also changing stories and angles 10 minutes before wrestlers are set to go live. It seems that the Game is indeed doing what McMahon used to do to prevent storylines from being ruined.

“Maybe now, with all the backlash, Triple H is rethinking things. But he’s also the one who has said, ‘I’m the one in charge. I don’t like when people try to hijack my creative plans.’ He’s been rewriting storylines to see who’s leaking information to the internet. It bothers Triple H and Nick Khan that social media is catching onto plans more easily. Now, the biggest angles are kept ultra-secret, maybe only the creative lead and the two wrestlers know. Things are even changed 10 minutes before going live. Triple H is in Gorilla saying, ‘Follow my lead now,'” Hugo Savinovich said. [H/T to RSN]

Hugo, who became a free agent from AAA last summer, agreed with the idea of keeping surprises a secret, but he doesn’t think WWE’s Creative Writing Team has booked very strong ideas in recent memory.
