Triple H Addresses Criticisms Regarding Representation In WWE

Triple H Paying

Triple H was grilled about representation and diversity during the Bad Blood press conference last night.

After a chaotic Premium Live Event, including a bloody cage match, high-risk shark tank drama, and a shocking return, Triple H took to the mic at the Bad Blood press conference, along with Liv Morgan and Damien Priest. Triple H shared his thoughts on the success of the event, including the fact that the 16,092 crowd at the State Farm Arena was the largest domestic arena gate in WWE history. However, the Head of Creative also had to face a number of probing questions about the current state of WWE, particularly regarding representation.

When Triple H’s press conference was opened up for questions, he was asked how he gauges making sure there is representation and making sure deserving talent gets opportunities. The reporter noted that Black male wrestlers hadn’t featured in the last three WWE Premium Live Events, and that no Black female wrestlers competed in Bad Blood. Triple H made his stance very clear:

“I see everybody gets the opportunity. I don’t see the difference in anybody. I don’t see the color, I don’t see the nationality or any of that. I just see talent. I don’t see the difference between men and women, I see talent. We tell stories with those talent, how they can handle those stories and how they can represent those stories, and how we can bring those stories forward. I don’t keep track of any of that. I do what’s relevant and what is best in the storytelling and what’s being delivered the best and that’s what goes. No different than the men and women who main event whatever, whatever the biggest stories are, that’s where we go.”

Triple H went on to comment on CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s Hell in a Cell match, describing it as “a classic” and “a clinic”. When asked about Goldberg possibly making an in-ring return after a teased confrontation with Gunther, Triple H simply said, “never say never.” Regarding The Rock’s next appearance following his surprise return, Triple H said the key word is “as he pleases”, suggesting The Rock could make further unexpected returns in the months to come.

WWE Champion Credits Success To Triple H’s Guidance: “He Always Supported Me”

Since taking charge of WWE, many WWE talent have come forward to praise Triple H’s management style and guidance, with a current champion the latest to do so. The 6’3″ champion feels the reason for his success is due to how Triple H “always supported me and saw something in me“.

With representation continuing to be a talking point, Raj Dhesi has also commented.
