Trinity Fatu (Naomi) Confirms WWE Departure

Trinity Fatu hasn’t been seen in WWE since she walked out of Monday Night Raw alongside her partner Mercedes Mone (formerly known as Sasha Banks) back in May.

The two reportedly butted heads with then-WWE CEO Vince McMahon over creative plans for the show’s main event, and after leaving in the middle of Raw, the two were blasted on commentary as “selfish.” They were stripped of their tag team titles and suspended without pay.

In the months that followed their walkout, both Fatu and Mone changed their social media handles to their real names and removed references to WWE in their bios, leading to speculation as to whether or not the two were still under contract.

In January, the former Sasha Banks revealed that her contract had expired at the end of 2022, leading fans to wonder if the same was true for her former tag team partner. She made her New Japan Pro Wrestling debut days after officially becoming a free agent, confronting KAIRI at Wrestle Kingdom 17 and issuing a challenge for the IWGP Women’s Championship, a title she won in her in-ring return against KAIRI back in February.

“No Frien'” – Trinity Fatu Confirms She Is No Longer With WWE

While she is still listed as part of the active roster on WWE.com as of this writing and some reports indicated that she would “almost certainly” return, Fatu has been taking a number of independently-booked appearances for some time, appearing as part of Fashion Week in New York City alongside Mercedes Mone as well as flying to Japan to support her friend in her Wrestle Kingdom debut.

Now, in a comment on an Instagram post announcing her upcoming appearance at WrestleCon in Los Angeles as part of WrestleMania weekend, Fatu seemingly confirmed her departure from the sports entertainment giant. After a fan asked if she was still with her former employer, Fatu replied in the negative, saying “no frien’.” A screenshot of her comment can be found below.

Fans can meet Fatu at WrestleCon on April 1st & 2nd.
