Trinity Breaks Silence On WWE Exit “It Was A Blessing In Disguise”

Naomi - Trinity Fatu

It has been almost a full year since Trinity Fatu, better known as Naomi in WWE, was seen on wrestling programming.

Last May, she and fellow WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Bank left the company after a major creative dispute which caused an uproar among some diehard fans of theirs.

And while most of the attention has been on Banks – who now wrestles as Mercedes Mone in Stardom and NJPW – the former Naomi has re-emerged, this time on IMPACT.

Her appearance was on a taped episode that will air on May 4th.

With Trinity’s wrestling future kept under wraps for so long, many have wondered what has been going through her mind as she contemplated these next steps.

Trinity thinks departure from WWE allowed her to “grow and become better in every way”

Naomi spoke with NBC Chicago to answer these questions.

“I’ve been wrestling 14 years now, and then one day everything, everything just changed. And I felt like my whole world was turned upside down and things were shuffled around.

It took a little time to just process everything and really sort out what I want to do, where I want to be.

I feel like it was a blessing in disguise. I feel that it’s allowed me to grow and become better in every way, in every aspect. Show me how strong I really am.

And now I’ve got this new journey ahead of me, these new goals, and I’m excited and ready to step into this new chapter.

Details on Trinity’s first match and what her immediate plans are will likely be revealed in the coming weeks on IMPACT Wrestling.
