Trent Beretta Tests Positive For COVID-19, Pulled From NJPW Show

Trent Beretta

AEW star Trent Beretta has been pulled from a New Japan Pro Wrestling show after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

Trent Beretta last competed in AEW on the 1st of May at tapings for AEW Dark where he teamed up with Rocky Romero as Roppongi Vice to face The Wingmen of Peter Avalon and Ryan Nemeth.

Beretta had been scheduled to wrestle on New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Capital Collision show in Washington DC where he was set to team with CHAOS stablemate Kazuchika Okada against the Bullet Club pairing of ‘Switchblade’ Jay White and Hikuleo.

NJPW released a statement confirming that Trent Beretta has now been pulled from the event after testing positive for COVID-19 and will be replaced by Rocky Romero. The switch has caused a raft of changes to the card as Romero was already set for action in a multi-man tag team match. Ultimately, the changes have also caused The Factory’s Nick Comoroto to be drafted in for the dark match.

The full statement from NJPW reads:

“Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
