We now know who’ll be facing Toxic Attraction for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships at Great American Bash!
After winning the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament, Roxanne Perez declared that instead of going after Mandy Rose’s NXT Women’s Championship, she wanted to share her victory with her friend Cora Jade and go for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships instead.
However, the two were interrupted by Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, who said that the line for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships starts behind them, as they’re also best friends and have been teaming together much longer than Perez and Jade. When the young upstarts protested, Chance and Carter attacked.
In the wake of last week’s events, a number one contender’s match was made, on on the June 28th episode of NXT, the two teams faced off while the members of Toxic Attraction watched from their lounge near the ring. After a hard-fought battle, Perez and Jade emerged victorious, securing their chance to face Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne at Great American Bash next week.

Later on in the episode, Nikkita Lyons confronted Toxic Attraction backstage, saying that Perez wouldn’t have won the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament if she hadn’t been injured and had to be replaced by Tiffany Stratton. She went on to challenge NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose to a match to be held later in the night.
