Just months after his return, this top WWE star has earned himself a forgettable record.
Earlier this year, after WrestleMania 41, former AEW star Miro, now known as Rusev, made his much-awaited return on Raw. Taking down The Alpha Academy, the former United States Champion then found himself engaged in a rivalry against Sheamus.
Both previously a part of the villainous stable, ‘League of Nations’, now collided against each other on tonight’s July 21st edition of Raw. The Celtic Warrior defeated The Bulgarian Brute tonight in a lengthy match and successfully avenged his June 30th loss.
Rusev and Sheamus had previously clashed against each other in singles action back in 2014, with both the times the ex-AEW star securing the win. However, since his return in May, The Redeemer has only competed in three singles matches and already suffered his first loss tonight.
Now 1-1 against each other, fans expect to see a third bout to officially recognize the winner between them.
While Sheamus achieved his first win over the former champion tonight, it left behind a stain on the 39-year-old’s run at the Stamford-based promotion, three months after his return.
