A top WWE star’s return is getting closer.
Having been out of action for over a year with a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus, Charlotte Flair is expected to make her return to action imminently. Flair has provided regular recovery updates as her return draws near, most recently seen training with NXT wrestler Lainey Reed.
In an update from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Flair is said to be “on the cusp” of returning to the ring, adding that Flair was recently at WWE HQ taking part in a photo shoot and “other logistical work.” Previous reports indicated that the WWE star’s return was coming up, potentially as soon as the Saturday Night’s Main Event special. However, despite the reports, Flair was not seen on the show.
It should be noted that as the December 20th episode of SmackDown has been pre-taped Flair will not be appearing on the show as no spoilers have indicated this took place. The earliest Flair is expected to appear on TV is the following week’s show on December 27th. Flair could also make her return to the ring at the Holiday house shows scheduled in the final week of the year.
WWE Show To Wrap Up Soon
A lot has changed in the company since Flair went on hiatus to recover from injury. From an in-ring standpoint, the women’s division now has 2 more championships as the Women’s United States Championship is currently in circulation and held by Chelsea Green and the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion is set to be determined soon.
In addition to the new championships, major show changes are set in a matter of weeks as Raw will be broadcast on Netflix around the world beginning in January 2025. In other WWE show news, one program is set to conclude with a replacement already pencilled in.
