Top WWE Star Would Love To See Steve Austin Back “In Any Capacity”

Top WWE Star Would Love To See Steve Austin Back

A top WWE star has called for a Steve Austin return regardless of what the plans might be for The Texas Rattlesnake.

As 2024 continues to be one of the most newsworthy and unpredictable years in wrestling history, Steve Austin added more fuel to the fire in a recent interview when he teased that WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas is not too far from his ranch, which would mark 3 years since his comeback match against Kevin Owens in Dallas, Texas.

While the sound of the glass breaking is guaranteed to send the live crowd into a frenzy, Austin has made it clear many times that is not interested in any sort of comeback unless it is for something meaningful. Despite the fact that an Austin return still looks uncertain, Cody Rhodes admits he is one of many who would love to see it.

“Steve Austin Over-Delivered With Kevin Owens”: Cody Rhodes

Appearing on Gabby AF with Gabby LaSpisa, Rhodes detailed the impact Austin has had on the industry and how he was a valuable asset to the company:

“Steve Austin is, from a dollars and cents standpoint, the most profitable wrestler ever. From guys who like and study the business of it, that’s the benchmark and where you want to get. In addition to being all that, more memories than anyone could possibly provide. WWE at the time needed, WWE doesn’t need things that often, at that time they needed Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he pulled [WWE] out of the spot it was in and made everybody rich and brought a whole new flavor to the industry.”

Continuing, Rhodes stated that while he knows that Austin only wants to come back for something big, he has earned the right to appear in something smaller:

“I’d love to see him in any capacity. He over-delivered with Kevin Owens. If that was the end, that’s a great end. Kevin Owens did an incredible job there too. I feel like he hasn’t punched his legends card enough. He could just come in and tag with somebody. I know he probably wants it to be at the highest of levels, but you’re a legend, you can do whatever you want.”

Closing out the thoughts, Rhodes also joked that the merch numbers would be sobering to view the next day:

“I’ll be crying because if I hear the glass break, I’m going to look at a merch sheet the next day. ‘Vegas 3:16’ sold more than the Pharaoh plushy.”

In recent news, Steve Austin has shared an image of his impressive physique amidst WWE return rumours.
