Top WWE Star Working Through Injury

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is said to be working with an injury.

In the opening match of Night Two of WrestleMania 40 the big Scot defeated Seth Rollins to become the new World Heavyweight Champion in a hard fought and enthralling match.

Unfortunately for McIntyre, he would only hold the title for a short period of time as The Judgment Day’s Damian Preist cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to make McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship reign the shortest in company history.

According to reports from PWInsider.com McIntyre was injured during his match with Rollins and has since been working hurt while on the WWE Live UK Tour.

The report states that McIntyre “badly hyperextended” his elbow in his championship bout and although still able to work through it, may require some time off to let it heal.

Since his WrestleMania match, McIntyre wrestled on Monday Night Raw in a Number One Contendership Fatal Four Way match and fought Jey Uso in Birmingham, London, Cardiff and Belfast.

Has Drew McIntyre signed a new deal with WWE?

For several months there has been much speculation surrounding McIntyre’s contract status.

It has been widely reported that McIntyre’s contract is coming to an end and he has yet to sign a new deal. There were rumours he could become a free agent shortly after WrestleMania 40, and a new report has claimed that could be within the “five to six week” range.

If that is indeed the case then the Scottish Warrior could be a free agent in late May or early June meaning his involvement at Clash at the Castle in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland could be in doubt.

However, it should be noted that both sides have been in discussions “for several weeks” but they have “yet to get to the finish line on new terms.”

In other WWE news, one star is still on the end of an unfortunate streak.
