Rocky Romero has revealed that a former World Champion and current WWE Superstar was open to returning to New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Before heading to WWE, Finn Balor enjoyed a huge amount of success with the Japanese promotion, winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title three times, tag team gold six times, and the prestigious Best of the Super Juniors tournament twice.
Interestingly, Romero has revealed that Balor was interested in dipping his toes back into the promotion while under contract with WWE.
During an appearance on Comedy Store Wrestling, Romero said that the Irish star said he was going to speak to Triple H about going to “reheat” his character in Japan. It is unclear exactly when these conversations took place.
“I’ve had a couple fun conversations with him (Finn Bálor) over the last couple of years of like, him kind of fantasy booking and you know, ‘I’m gonna talk to Triple H and see if there’s an opportunity here for me to come back.’ This was years ago. But yeah, just to come back and do a couple matches and just kind of reheat himself up before going back to WWE.”
Finn Balor Stays On WWE Raw Following 2023 Draft
Since joining Judgment Day, Finn Balor’s WWE career has undergone something of a resurgence, and the star now finds himself part of one of the hottest acts in the company.
As part of the 2023 Draft, it was confirmed that Balor will be staying on Raw alongside Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio. Earlier in the night, Rhea Ripley was also drafted to the red brand.
On the show, Balor was ringside with Ripley as Dominik Mysterio and Priest defeated Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar.
