Top WWE Star To Miss WrestleMania

Top WWE Star To Miss WrestleMania 41

A top WWE star is unlikely to be cleared in time for WrestleMania 41.

With the biggest show of the year just over 4 months away, officials behind the scenes are already pencilling in potential matches for the show as the new year and the Royal Rumble is approaching fast. Unfortunately, multiple members of the roster now look set to miss the event due to recent injuries sustained.

Following his dive off the top of the cage at Survivor Series: WarGames, Bronson Reed suffered a broken foot and is set to undergo surgery soon.

Speaking about Reed on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that those within the company do not expect to see Reed back before WrestleMania, adding that Tonga Loa is also set to be out for around 8 months:

Dave Meltzer: Bronson Reed is having foot surgery. He’s going to be out for months. Yeah, long time.

Bryan Alvarez: He may not be back for Wrestlemania.

Dave Meltzer: I asked somebody there, and they said that he’s not expected back for WrestleMania. Expected to be a long time. And Tonga Loa, I had figured seven, eight months out, that’s usually the thing for bicep surgery.

In a further update, Bronson Reed’s projected return has been revealed.

Are More WWE PLEs Set To Follow WrestleMania Formula?

Beginning in 2020, WrestleMania moved to a 2-night show in a move that was praised by fans for making the event more watchable for having 2 4-hour shows as opposed to the 8-hour marathon. Beginning in 2025, SummerSlam will also follow suit with 2 night shows becoming the norm moving forward. At a recent conference, TKO President Mark Shapiro spoke about the chances of having more WWE Premium Live Events extended to 2 nights.
