One of WWE’s biggest stars has admitted that they’ve got one eye on retirement, revealing that their in-ring career is “going to end soon.”
On January 26th 2020 Edge completed one of the most remarkable comeback in not only WWE history, but the history of professional wrestling.
Nine years earlier, the Rated R Superstar stood in the middle of the ring on Monday Night Raw and announced that his career was over. Following a number of serious neck issues, the star was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and on the advice of doctors called time on his illustrious career.
Since getting back in the ring, Edge has won the Royal Rumble, competed at WrestleMania and clashed with some of the biggest names that WWE has to offer.
The WWE Hall of Famer’s next match is scheduled to take place in his hometown of Toronto on the August 22nd edition of Raw. On the show, the star will look to earn some retribution over his former stablemates in Judgment Day when he takes on Damian Priest.
Speaking to Bleacher Report ahead of the highly-anticipated match, The Ultimate Opportunist admitted that he knows his career hasn’t got much longer to run.
“This run, I feel I’ve been able to do some of that. To me, that has been one more layer on this cake that was already tasty anyway,” stated Edge. “I am enjoying and soaking in every moment with the complete realization that it’s going to end soon. I know the end is in sight, and I can see it, and because of that, it makes me enjoy it more.”
It has also been announced Trish Stratus will be returning to the red brand in Toronto for a special appearance.
