Top WWE Star Mocks Randy Orton Over Infamous WrestleMania Moment

Randy Orton WWE WrestleMania

One former champion talked an infamous Randy Orton entrance at WrestleMania.

WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, FL saw Randy Orton capture his ninth WWE Championship when he defeated Bray Wyatt on The Grandest Stage of Them All. The match is more remembered for its bizarre theatrics than the in-ring action as maggots and worms were projected onto the ring canvas during the bout.

Orton’s entrance on that night has also become infamous. As he made his way to the ring, a viper was projected onto the ramp, but many fans (and Orton himself) believe the supposed snake looked more like a sperm.

Speaking in a new interview with Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement, Kevin Owens pointed to the fact that this is sadly one of Orton’s most memorable WrestleMania entrances, saying:

“I always took comfort in knowing, you know who never got cool entrances? Randy Orton. He’s as badass as it gets because he never needed them either. Except one year, we talked about this before, WrestleMania 33. The ramp had graphics on it and I watched his match from a suite where my family was so I could look down. His graphic was a viper, but it just looked like a sperm. He knew right away. He knew in the afternoon. ‘I’m being followed by a giant sperm.'” (h/t Fightful)

Kevin Owens Vs. Randy Orton No Longer Taking Place At WrestleMania 41

Owens and Orton were scheduled to go head to head at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, but on the April 4th episode of SmackDown, Owens made the shocking announcement that he required neck surgery and would be out of action for the foreseeable future. Elsewhere on the podcast, Owens discussed how his serious neck injury occurred.
