A top WWE star has spoken out about the infamous Travis Scott slap on Cody Rhodes and jokingly added that the rap star was not taught how to slap properly prior to his appearance.
The closing angle of Elimination Chamber saw the shock John Cena heel turn as the 16-time World Champion delivered a low blow to Rhodes, Continuing the assault on The American Nightmare, The Rock and Scott also laid their shots in and stood over Rhodes to close out the show.
As seen via fan footage at the event, Scott laid in one of his shots too hard as he struck Cody Rhodes in the head full force, reportedly injuring the Undisputed Champion in the process.
With the shot going viral for all the wrong reasons, many have questioned why Scott was a part of the segment, especially when physicality ensued. Appearing on Rosenberg Wrestling, Jey Uso joked that somebody didn’t show Scott how to deliver a working slap:
Man, somebody ain’t tell him (Travis Scott) how to work-slap him (Cody Rhodes)? Yo man, he probably too damn lit. I don’t know.
If he would have slapped me like that? Oh hell nah. I probably would’ve looked up, uce… This dude just hit me like Sheamus.
Ex-WWE Star Slams Travis Scott
Scott’s slap to Rhodes saw many express their concern, especially as The American Nightmare was seen with a black eye on SmackDown 6 days later. Letting their opinions be known on the segment, a former WWE star blasted Travis Scott for his actions, describing it as “arrogant and selfish.”
