One WWE star has explained why they have no issue with John Cena not qualifying for the Elimination Chamber.
With Jey Uso emerging as the last man standing in the Royal Rumble match, winning the Elimination Chamber match on March 1st is now the only way a WWE Superstar is able to guarantee a title match at WrestleMania 41. While CM Punk defeated Sami Zayn to qualify for the Chamber match and more qualifying matches are to come, Cena already secured his spot by automatically declaring for the match at the Royal Rumble press conference.
Speaking about Cena’s announcement on The Pat McAfee Show, Seth Rollins stated that he understands the Hollywood star’s choice but was less thrilled about facing CM Punk again:
“CM Punk in the chamber, we don’t love that. John Cena, we love that. We love John. John didn’t even qualify, ‘I’m John Cena, I’m doing it.’ Alright, I get it.”
When asked if he would declare for the match as opposed to qualify, Rollins responded that he prefers to earn his spot:
“You know what, I’ve tried that, they don’t flow with me. I’m a guy that likes to earn my way in. I like a good fight. I got a fight in a couple weeks, we’ll get in there, and then I’ll worry about Punk and Cena and worry about getting into the main event of WrestleMania.”
Recently new entrants were confirmed for both the men’s and women’s Elimination Chamber matches.
