WWE will return to the TD Garden in Boston, MA for tonight’s live SmackDown, but there will be no homecoming for John Cena. However, several top blue brand grapplers and multiple RAW Superstars are booked as the road to WWE Clash In Paris wraps up.
Nick Aldis will bring the blue brand to Beantown for another SmackDown with build to Clash In Paris. Cena is not scheduled for tonight’s show, but he is booked for next week’s SmackDown in Ireland, the the following Clash In Paris go-home episode from France. Massachusetts won’t have to wait long for the Cenation leader as he is booked for RAW in Springfield, MA on September 15, and he’s rumored for a final stop in Boston to end the year.
The Never Seen Seventeen may be off tonight’s show, but the SmackDown General Manager has announced a stacked card: The Miz and Carmelo Hayes vs. Fraxiom, Alexa Bliss vs. Piper Niven, DIY vs. The Street Profits, and Drew McIntyre will address last week’s attack on Cody Rhodes.
WWE RAW Superstars In Action At SmackDown Tonight
In addition to the aforementioned WWE Superstars set for tonight’s SmackDown, the company website and the arena have several top stars listed to appear. The following are advertised: Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Tiffany Stratton, LA Knight, Jacob Fatu, Jade Cargill, Solo Sikoa.
Six RAW Superstars are also booked for tonight’s SmackDown. The TD Garden has Penta vs. Bronson Reed listed in what will be a first-time-ever match. Penta and Reed have locked up once before: RAW on June 30 saw Reed and Bron Breakker defeat Penta and Sami Zayn.
Erik and Ivar vs. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods is also listed by the arena, likely as a dark match. The New Day and The War Raiders have done battle in 7 televised two-on-two matches, most recently at WrestleMania 41 when Kingston and Woods became the World Tag Team Champions. Erik and Ivar currently lead the series 4-3.
