WWE Superstar Damian Priest has confirmed that he will remain with the company for the foreseeable future.
WrestleMania 40 was a weekend of mixed fortunes for The Judgment Day. Although Priest and Finn Balor would lose both Tag Team Championships in the six-pack ladder match on night one, Priest had other plans for night 2. As Drew McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins to become World Heavyweight Champion, The Scottish Warrior could not resist gloating about his success to CM Punk, who was sitting at the commentary desk to call the match.
With McIntyre pushing Punk too far, Punk attacked McIntyre with his brace to leave the new champion vulnerable. At this point, the opening riff of Alter Bridge’s The Other Side rang through Lincoln Financial Field, signalling the arrival of Señor Money in the Bank. Cashing in his contract instantly, Damian Priest defeated Drew McIntyre to become the new champion and bring McIntyre’s reign to an end mere minutes after he finally won a title with fans in attendance.
Still basking in the victory from WrestleMania 40, Priest was asked about his new entrance music, which premiered on the next episode of Raw. Commenting on the many positive changes that have taken place in a backstage interview, Priest was the latest Superstar to reveal that he had re-signed with the company:
“It’s another first for me. This has been already a great year for me. New contract. New title. New theme song, voiced by yours truly. Judgment Day’s on fire.”
Walking out on Raw with a brand new theme, Damian Priest detailed the creative process behind the new music.
What’s Next For Damian Priest In WWE?
With a number of Raw stars looking to take the title from Priest, including McIntyre, a Fatal 4-Way match was booked on the April 8th edition of Raw that determined who would be the new number-one contender. With Drew McIntyre still irate at Punk, he vowed to get revenge on the Chicago native before the match. However, CM Punk would once again be McIntyre’s downfall as he factored into the ending of the match that saw Jey Uso pick up the victory.
In a new update, Damian Priest has admitted that a major WWE moment was not guaranteed.
