One of the biggest matches at NXT Spring Breakin’ was marred by an apparent injury to one of the brand’s most loved stars.
On the show, NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell made the second defence of the title that she won back at Stand & Deliver. After previously seeing off Zoey Stark, Hartwell stepped into the ring with Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne Perez.
During the match, Stratton hit a huge dive to the outside onto her two rivals. However, while Perez was able to quickly bounce back, Hartwell’s leg appeared to crumple underneath her.
Perez and Stratton continued the match as Hartwell was checked out by medical staff and taken backstage. However, she was able to get back into the action albeit gingerly, eventually picking up the win. The star was praised on Twitter by a number of fellow NXT stars for returning to the match including heel Grayson Waller, seemingly confirming that the injury was legitimate.
Dijack added that he was backstage at the time and on the scene when medical staff was working on Hartwell during the match.
“If anyone was wondering, I happened to be sitting next to @indi_hartwell in medical while they were evaluating this gruesome injury mid-match and she was no selling the sh*t out of it like an absolute badass.”
NXT Title Match Set For Battleground
After Carmelo Hayes retained his NXT Title with a win over Grayson Waller he called out former champion Bron Breakker. After Hayes called out Breakker to respond, the former champion attacked the star and Trick Williams from behind. Breakker locked Williams in the recliner before hitting a huge spear on Hayes through a wall at ringside.
