The WWE Draft begins tonight, and ahead of the big event, multiple stars from NXT have made their way to Corpus Christi, TX.
Triple H first announced the upcoming draft on the April 7th episode of SmackDown, promising that it will be the biggest draft in the company’s history. He also noted that every WWE Superstar will be eligible, and the company released a full list of eligible talent earlier today. Interestingly, both Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss are absent from the list. Night one of the Draft will take place on the August 28th episode of SmackDown, and it will conclude on the May 1st episode of Raw.
The list released by WWE does indicate that select NXT Superstars will be available to be drafted, but does not list any of those stars by name, wanting to keep main roster call-ups a surprise until the show is broadcast.
However, a new report from PWInsider Elite sheds light on some of the talent that may be involved on SmackDown tonight. According to the report, Pretty Deadly, Cora Jade, and Roxanne Perez have all been spotted in Texas. An earlier report from PWInsider stated that both Bron Breakker and Cora Jade were expected to be in Corpus Christi, but Breakker has not been seen in Texas as of this writing, indicating plans may have changed.
While NXT talent are regularly brought into Raw to work Main Event tapings, it is uncommon for them to be brought to the blue brand if they’re not going to be used. Still, there is no confirmation that the talent will be drafted tonight and nothing is official until the broadcast airs.
Pretty Deadly were written off NXT TV on the April 25th episode. After losing a Trunk Match to Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, the Family were shown at a lake and indicated that they’d permanently disposed of Kit Wilson and Elton Prince.
Multiple NXT Talent Rumored For WWE Draft
In recent days, numerous names have been discussed for inclusion in the Draft. In addition to those listed above, Cameron Grimes, Tyler Bate, Zoey Stark, Grayson Waller, and Ilja Dragunov have all been discussed after impressing officials.
Grimes has been rumored for a main roster call-up since well before WrestleMania. The star hasn’t been seen on television since November 8th, and was written off television in order to make the move to Raw or SmackDown. However, the creative team has reportedly been waiting on a story for the North Carolina native, leaving his status in question. Grimes has gotten in phenomenal shape during his time away from television.
Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T said he wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Grayson Waller make the move to the main roster as he believes the star is ready.
