Bobby Lashley keen for popular WWE faction to reassemble
One of the group’s members, former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, is reportedly very keen to see a reunion for the popular faction.
Lashley, together with former WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, thrived whilst together in a quartet spearheaded by manager and occasional in-ring performer MVP.
In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, journalist Dave Meltzer reported that “Lashley has been pushing to redo The Hurt Business and the angle for that started last week.”
Lashley will challenge Austin Theory for the WWE US Championship on Monday’s historic 30th Anniversary edition of Raw and is reportedly keen for his former stable mates to play a part in the huge matchup.
The Hurt Business enjoyed a successful run together, with Lashley capturing his first WWE Championship from The Miz in March 2021. Alexander and Benjamin also enjoyed a three-month reign as Raw Tag Team Champions before being dethroned by the New Day on March 15th 2021.
The group disbanded in January 2022, with Lashley informing Alexander and Benjamin he wished to go alone and soon thereafter MVP would turn on powerful Superstar to join forces with Omos.
Lashley would go on to defeat the giant Nigerian star at Wrestlemania 38 and spent the remainder of 2022 largely locked in battle for the US Championship with Superstars such as Seth Rollins, Tommaso Ciampa and Austin Theory. He won a six-man elimination match on the January 16th 2023 edition of Raw to earn another opportunity at gold at Raw is XXX this Monday night.
