While the partnership between TNA and WWE is in full swing, one star has been seen backstage at AEW.
At the 2024 Royal Rumble, TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace made her WWE debut, kicking off a partnership between the two promotions. More recently, Grace unsuccessfully challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship at Battleground.
On the June 18th edition of NXT, more stars made the jump, as Frankie Kazarian and Joe Hendry competed in a 25-man battle royal to determine the number one contender for the Trick WIlliams’ NXT Championship, although both men came up short.
Now, one TNA star has been spotted going through the promotion’s old Forbidden Door as they have been seen backstage at an event held by the promtion’s former partner, All Elite Wrestling.
Former TNA X Division Champion Backstage At AEW Collision
According to Fightful Select, ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey was backstage when Collision was taped in Allentown, Pennsylvania on June 20th. The report notes that Bailey went to the show to visit friends as he has a lot of connections in the company. There was no word of any talks beyond that, with Bailey being under contract with TNA until the end of 2024.
Bailey is highly regarded around the world for his in-ring abilities and is a former X Division Champion. Earlier in 2024, he was involved with AEW stars as part of the Jericho Cruise, where he teamed with Chris Jericho and Paul Wight to defeat Kyle Fletcher, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Lance Archer.
