Top TNA Star Referenced On WWE Raw

The crossover between WWE and TNA continues.

The lead-up to NXT Battleground and the event itself saw multiple surprises from TNA make an appearance. Beginning with Jordynne Grace’s surprise return on the May 28th episode, it was later confirmed that the Knockouts Champion would have the opportunity to become a double champion as she challenged NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.

At Battleground the surprises continued as TNA star Ash By Elegance [FKA Dana Brooke] made a shock return to the promotion for one night as she stopped Tatum Paxley from stealing the Knockouts Championship. Both Ash and Paxley were laid out by Grace following the interference.

The latest reference to the Nashville-based promotion occurred on the June 10th episode of Raw. Drew McIntyre opened the show and made reference to the fact that he would be challenging Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle. McIntyre was quickly interrupted by Priest, which was followed by Pat McAfee uttering the line “Say his name and he appears” during Priest’s entrance, which are the opening lyrics to TNA star Joe Hendry’s theme song.

Having taken notice of the reference, Hendry issued a response to McAfee on social media.

What Else Happened On WWE Raw?

Presenting the final build to Clash at the Castle, the show saw a major change made to the main event as a stipulation was added to the match between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest. Additionally, the show seemingly marked the final appearance of Ricochet as the former United States Champion was written off TV in a brutal injury angle.

In a storyline that ran throughout the night, Liv Morgan continued her pursuit of Dominik Mysterio and left The Judgment Day member her hotel room key, which was taken by Finn Balor.
