Top TNA Star Hoping To Recreate John Cena Moment Before WWE Legend Retires

A member of the TNA roster is hoping that they can share the ring with John Cena one more time before the 16-time World Champion calls time on his WWE in-ring career.

The Cena farewell tour has officially kicked off with the Hollywood star appearing on the Raw on Netflix premiere and making the announcement that he would be entering the Royal Rumble match. With Cena making it clear that there will be no more matches after 2025, just about every star from the past or present is hoping that they will get their moment with the legend before all is said and done. For TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth, his Cena moment would be one that happened 12 years ago.

Speaking with Jon Alba for Sports Illustrated, Nemeth admitted sharing another moment with Cena would be special:

“Yeah, it would be [special]. Absolutely. As much as I would like to hog it, no matter who was in that moment with him, that would be cool as hell, because he’s done so much for so many other people, and this is a big year to get everything in.”

Continuing, Nemeth stated that he would love to have Big E and AJ Lee join him to recreate their previous rivalry:

“I just saw Big E on TV. I was like, ‘you know what? It’d be funny if Cena was doing one of his Monday Night Raw nights, and he came out, and then Big E came out, and then AJ Lee came out on the stage, and then I came out on the stage.’ And it just reminded me of 2013, where we had six months of battles with John and he broke that, my briefcase, over the top of my head maybe 45 times in that six months. And I said, ‘that would be a nice visual. That’ll be a nice moment for fans to have all these returns and have a moment.'”

Big E’s main roster debut saw him attack Cena during the 16-time World Champion’s match against Nemeth, previously known as Dolph Ziggler.

John Cena In TNA?

Although the phrase “John Cena appears on TNA” feels like one of the most outrageous predictions of 2025, crazier things have happened in the professional wrestling industry. Addressing the possibility, Nemeth teased the idea of Cena making the crossover appearance:

“So maybe you have it happen, and maybe you have John show up to one of our live Impacts, or at Genesis or something,” he said. “I would just like a moment, just seeing the three of us, because we had a nice little, ongoing off-and-on year-long thing with John. That’d be really cool.”

With the recent news that WWE and TNA are going to continue working together, Nemeth’s wish may be granted.
