Liv Morgan has been officially drafted to the SmackDown roster following her victory of the blue brand’s Women’s Championship.
Liv Morgan surprised the world when she lifted the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Having outlasted six other Superstars to win the Money in the Bank ladder match, the 28-year-old cashed in on the same night against Ronda Rousey to capture the inaugural championship of her pro wrestling career.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson has confirmed that she’ll now wrestle as part of the SmackDown roster moving forward. Liv had previously been part of the Raw roster since the Superstar Shake-Up in October 2019.
Signed by WWE in October 2014, the real-life Gionna Daddio has risen to become one of the top WWE Superstars. She challenged on two occasions for the Raw Women’s Championship when it was held by Becky Lynch, which included an acclaimed outing during January’s Day 1 premium live event.
Morgan was given a warm farewell from the Raw roster on this past Monday’s broadcast of the red brand, with Bianca Belair emotionally congratulating her after they defeated Carmella and Natalya. She’s now expected to appear on tonight’s (8 July) edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Liv is heavily expected to make her first defence of the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam against Ronda Rousey. This would mark just her second official singles outing on a premium live event following Day 1.
