Former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions were expected to make a permanent move to the WWE main roster.

Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne were inserted into the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament after fellow NXT 2.0 stars Zoey Starks and Nikita Lyons were pulled due to injury. Despite Dolin and Jayne advancing to the semi-finals, the duo was removed from the tournament after Dolin suffered a concussion during their match on SmackDown against Natalya and Sonya Deville.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dolin and Jayne’s match on SmackDown was supposed to be their official call-up to the main roster. The duo reportedly filmed a video of them discussing how they would take over SmackDown. However, the video was pulled due to Dolin’s injury.

After Dolin and Jayne were removed from the tournament, WWE announced a second chance Fatal-Four Way match to determine their replacement. The match was won by Natalya and Deville, who ended up losing the semi-finals to Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah.

As for Toxic Attraction, there’s no word on whether the group will remain in NXT or return to SmackDown. The group’s leader, Mandy Rose, is still the NXT Women’s Champion and is set to defend the title in a Triple Threat Unification match against NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura and Blair Davenport at Worlds Collide.
