One of NXT’s breakout stars has announced that they will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time due to a serious knee injury.

Nikkita Lyons is one of the brand’s standout stars. Her martial arts and dancing background, combined with her skill and size make her a formidable talent who has a bright future ahead of her.

Since joining the ranks of the WWE brand in 2022, Lyons has made a huge impact. In a short space of time, she has proved herself to be an impressive talent. Her unique pin cover where she executes the splits on her fallen opponent went viral and as a result, her star has risen fast. However, her momentum has been halted by injury.

Her last match took place on the January 20 episode of NXT Level Up, where she defeated Jakara Jackson. On the January 24th edition of NXT Lyons was attacked by an unknown assailant in wrestling’s most dangerous parking lot, thus writing her off television to recover.

Lyons took to her Twitter account to reveal more details of her injury but did not state how long she was expected to be out.

ACL & Meniscus are torn.🦵🏼This comeback is personal. Thank you to all who consistently show love & genuine support. it means the 🌎 to me.🦁Those of you who don’t see the vision, thank you too. Stay ya a** right there. This is just another lesson life needed to teach. 🌻 Love.

Nikkita Lyons Suffered A Similar Knee Injury In NXT

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Lyons has been put on the shelf during her time with NXT. Lyons was removed from last year’s first-ever Women’s Breakout Tournament due to an injury. She later revealed it to be a partial MCL tear and an MCL sprain.

Lyons was able to recover and return to action within a month of suffering the injury. Upon her return, she defeated then-undefeated NXT Women’s Champion, Mandy Rose by disqualification. She then challenged for the Women’s Tag Team Championships with Zoey Stark. More recently, she participated in the Number One Contender Twenty-Woman Battle Royal at New Year’s Evil.
