Top NJPW Star Ready To “Slap” The Rock: “I Couldn’t Care Less”

Top NJPW star has openly threatened to slap The Rock.

Earlier this year, The Great One appeared on social media wearing NJPW’s iconic Lion Mark logo t-shirt, which soon made the internet wrestling community go crazy. Later, New Japan Pro Wrestling itself reacted to The Rock’s post and played along with it.

However, the post did not sit well with NJPW star Gabe Kidd. In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Kidd shared his thoughts on the upload in his signature no-nonsense style. Claiming he “couldn’t care less”, the former Strong Openweight Champion suggested he was ready to “slap” The Final Boss.

“He’s trying to catch a buzz off of what’s hot. Listen, I couldn’t care less about Dwayne. I don’t care. If he wants to come to New Japan. I’ll slap him up, no problem. It’s Dwayne Johnson, bro. He was in Jumanji 2.”

Earlier last year, during an appearance on Wresthings, Gabe Kidd had also expressed his thoughts about slapping The Rock.

Kidd will next appear at NJPW Resurgence on May 9. The Good Brothers, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, are headed to NJPW to team up with the Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) to take on the War Dogs (Gabe Kidd, David Finlay, Clark Connors, and Gedo).

WWE Hall Of Famer Explains Why The Rock Could Not Show Up At WrestleMania 41

Despite being a major part of the Cody RhodesJohn Cena storyline at WrestleMania 41, The Rock failed to show up during the PLE. Later, Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared his thoughts on his Kliq This podcast and discussed why The Rock could not show up at the event.

“Rock couldn’t show up because Rock was filming a fucking Scorsese film. The last time Rock fucking showed up, right before Hercules, he tore his fucking bone off his pelvis and cost production $10 million. No, Rock can say whatever he wants, ‘I didn’t want to fuck up Cena’s moment,’ he didn’t have the option. Scorsese was not going to let him. Fuck off. No. I think they’re shooting in Hawaii. I might be wrong, but put it this way, if they’re not shooting, they’re definitely in pre-(production). Whoever is ensuring that note ain’t gonna let Rock bounce around the ring.”
